The Oberon has its base on the Swedish west coast, 100km north of Gothenburg in the picturesque seaside resort of Lysekil.

History

The first of the Oberons was bought in 1977 for sea angling by Arne Larsson. It was built in 1944 at the ‘Gustavsson och söner’ in Landskrona, Sweden. At the time it was used as a trawler in the Northsea.

When Arne retired in 1991 he passed the business on to his son Bernt. The spring of 1999 was a breaking-point in the history of Oberon, the old wood vessel was replaced by a smaller one – made entirely out of aluminium. A Finnfish 1200, which in ’98 was refurbished and re-designed for good comfort for 12 passangers.
